  • Is Cell Service & Wifi Available?

Cellular reception isn’t strong in this little corner of the countryside. Depending on your service provider you may not be connected with the outside world during your stay at Porters Peak (we like to think of it as a digital detox).

    Can I Bring a Pet?

Every cabin is a pet-friendly cabin. Nova Scotia, let us meet your furry friends!

Yes! Your cat and dog are welcome! However, at the moment, we don’t accept any other furry friends on-site.

To help make your getaway enjoyable for everyone, there are a few things that we ask that you do:

Clean up after your pet - please pick up any doggie poo!

Keep your dogs under strict control (on a leash if necessary) at all times around the grounds, the lake, and on the trails.

Don’t leave your dog unattended inside at any time.

Bring your own towels to clean them from any mud before entering the cabin or tent.

    If It Rains/Snows?

Curl up with a good book, play some board games or fill in a coloring book from one of our yurts. Nova Scotia weather is charming, whether it's raining or sunny.

    Will There Be Bugs?

Yes, there are bugs. After all, this is the great outdoors. Though we do our best to un-invite them, you may see ants, spiders, ticks, and unidentified crawlies. We use an environmentally safe spray to control mosquitos and other biting insects in guest accommodation areas. The spray is safe for pets and children, but please let us know if you have any concerns.

    Camp Chairs

Do I Need to Bring Camp Chairs?

There is no need to bring camp chairs for the fire as we will have seating. However, if you want chairs near the water, you must bring your own.

Do You Have an On-Site Store?

Coming Summer 2023; however, currently, there is no on-site store. Please bring everything you need for your trip. If you are in need of any snacks, the village of Porters Lake is a short drive away, or for small snacks, you can stop at Toulany’s Pizza Shop, where there is a small convenience store located inside.

    Can I Pitch Additional Tents?

No, we do not allow personal tents on the property, nor do we have RV hookups available.

    Can I Bring Fireworks?

Out of respect for other guests and safety in general, we have a strict no fireworks policy. We take fire safety very seriously. Your group will be asked to immediately vacate the premises without a refund if any of these items are found to be used during your stay. Leave them at home!

Do I Need an Axe or Saw for Firewood?

Please do not use these items and destroy the trees or make your own firewood on the property or surrounding area. We provide firewood.

    Will There Be Noise?

We ask that all guests refrain from playing loud music or bringing loudspeakers. Your accommodations are private, however, noise carries across the lake. Please be mindful and respectful of other guests who do not wish to listen to loud music, and want to enjoy the peace and quiet. Please keep in mind that quiet hours are from 10:00pm - 8:00am daily.
